It was Country Joe (McDonald) and the Fish - Feel Like I'm Fixin to Die Rag - was available on an LP back in those days called Feel Like I'm Fixin to Die.
Arlo Guthrie's big one of the time was Alice's Restautrant

No its Country Joe & The Fish. I remember the title as "I Feel Like I'm Fixin To Die Rag", that was their biggest hit

it's actually by country joe mcdonald and the fish, called "i-feel-like-i'm-fixin'-to-die rag", which was made popular at woodstock.
