The Sun does tend to write alot of rubbish, so don't believe all what they say. The Daily Mail is much better for you.

The sun is good in small amounts since it causes your skin to produce vitamins, but too much of it especially these days where there are a lot of green house gasses can cause skin cancer.

Yes, it gives us vitamin D. Recent studies suggest that the elevated vitamin D enjoyed by those in tropical latitudes could explain the lower cancer rates there compared to northern areas. Too much sun, though, makes your skin age faster and the whole skin cancer thing. Moderation seems to be the key.

it is good for us in the fact that it helps our bodies make vitamin D. exposure to the sun causes our skin to synthesis vitamin D. but it is not good for us in the fact that too much exposure can cause skin cancer. to be sensible about it the exposure should be moderate and if you know that you will be spending long periods in the sun then make sure you are protected with suncream.

Yes, in moderation. We need sunlight to produce vitamin D in our bodies, without which we could get rickets. But too much hot sun can cause solar keratosis which can turn cancerous.

If you look at the bigger picture - if the sun wasn't around earth would be a giant vaccum and we would all be dead. It makes skin cancer and vitamin D seem a bit insignificant.

Yes. Without the sun, there will be no life on earth. However, we need to protect ourselves from excessive exposure.
