(I guess we'd have to assume in the question entities that have offered to sponsor both sets of debates.)

1. the Congressional Black Caucus and the Democrats backed down because the debate was going to be on Fox.
2. I don't know of any.
3. It used to be the League of Women Voters, and now, let me guess that it's the party national committees. Well, I cheated, and looked it up. It's the CPD. I don't think many people know this. I do recall, however, that the debates were more debate-like and the discussion was more substantive back when the League of Women Voters sponsored them.

I'm sorry, but I don't know the answer to that one. Unfortunately, I've noticed that you're not getting many responses to your questions. I don't know why. I think they're rather interesting myself.
