They were a series of wars against the Arabs who were in Israel in the Middle Ages. Many of them were failures, since the Saracens (as they called them) had fast horses and archers who made the knights on heavy steeds look like lumbering idiots. There was even a Childrens' Crusade, which was a plan devised to capture children and sell them as slaves in the Middle East.

the crusades had something to do with the Catholic church trying to spread Catholicism....and they are embarassed by it now....(I am Catholic...so I am not making fun or anything)...u shoul be able to find it on any Catholic or Chjristian website
