...my personal favorite is "Beth" by KISS...

...not sure whether the song is stemed in some kind of truth or history, with regards to the band, KISS; however, I'm still inclined to really feel for the guy singing the song.

Clearly, his heart is torn asunder, between being with the girl he loves most dearly, and being with his band, whose dreams are to make it in the big time. In the case of this song, the lad's passion for his music and his friends, have clearly won over his passion for his beloved, and it's deeply hurting him, that he's hurting her.
