The ABS light has nothing to do with the mechanical condition of your brakes. It looks at the wheel speeds of all four wheels and attempts corrections when braking. The warning indicators, orange and red, are used to alert the driver to a problem. The red is for hydraulic or an electrical fault that could cause you to loose the brakes or have them at a dangerous point that could cause a poor braking deal. The orange one is to warn the driver that the ABS has detected something electrically wrong with the sensor strings or module. This is generally a wheel speed sensor or electrical circuit to the sensor having been detected open or shorted. First thing to do is go get the module scanned to get the code(s) and find out which circuit is causing the problem. These are usually to do with one or two of the wheels. It is more likely that the wires to the wheels have broken close to where the wiring goes into the sensor. A close inspection usually can find where it has broken. Good luck.

You need to get an Ohm meter and probe each wheel hub for a bad sensor. Usually it will go open loop on the meter if its bad. The other test is put the meter on AC voltage mode on the lowest setting and spin the hub to see if you get a AC voltage reading. Or a nice trick to simulate a working hub sensor is to put a 1.5K ohm resistor or 2k ohm resistor on each wheel ABS connector. Then turn the key on to see which one makes the light go out. Now if you drive with the resistor connected the light will come back on while moving the car about 4 to 6 feet. I had seen bad wheel bearing hubs with bad sensors and bad wiring to the hub abs connector. Even bad ABS relay or fuse will make it come on or bad abs module.

First, be aware of the fact that you now have no ABS. That in itself is dangerous. You probably have a bad ABS sensor. Take it to a reputable garage and have the system scanned

It could just be an electrical short. Talk to whoever did your brakes, and have them fix it. They should have reset it, when they did your brakes. If you did your own brakes, talk to the local dealership about it.

Have an ABS qualified shop check for trouble codes on the system-- could be a bad sensor or corroded connector.

return to the situation the place you acquire your brakes replaced, and tell them that the brake gentle has no longer come on because of the fact they worked on it. they're going to preserve you, freed from cost too.
