Just curious what others from the USA think about this. Years ago, when I learned how to drive, the right hand lane(s) were for driving and the far left lane was the passing lane.

Nowadays, people drive in the left lane. And they seem to drive SLOWLY in that lane. And they won't pull over into the right lane to let you pass. And they seem to be oblivious to anything being wrong with that.

Anyone know how this came about? Is the far left lane still considered a passing lane?

I don't know but it drives me crazy, here in Texas I see it constantly. I don't think they learned proper traffic flow procedures.

Yeah, it's still the passing lane. There are way too many ignorant drivers on the freeways these days. Cell phones are making it worse than ever.
