What is wrong with Capricorns?

Question

I have met so many Capricorns who believe the world is aginst them. They really beleive no one likes them. Is this what astrologers are speaking of when they say Capricorns have extremely low self asteem. I heard this trait causes them to disrespect family and close friends because it's impossible to respect others if you don't respect yourself. The reason why I ask this question is this past weekend my ladies mom a Capricorn was complaining about how no one loves her. I listened to Mary J Blige a Capricorns interview on VH1. This woman has sold 65 million albums but she still believes know one really likes her. I also listened to R. Kelly CD's a capricorn. He is such a unhappy guy and he's sold 50 million albums. I have a Aunt, Uncle, Cousin, In law and her husband who are all Capricorns. They all compalin about how people don't respect them. They live life tring to get respect they already have by buying material things. Why do Capricorns have so much self pitty? please tell me.

Capricorns give so much energy in building their reputation and social profile... They don't evaluate friendships and emotions as much... i think when they complain about not having love around them, they worry about their image not the actual situation. There's no kind of genuine deep human warm world where Capricorns act naturally and that's why they 'll keep complaining in the future..

Capricorns are cool people for the most part. They work hard and are emotionally sound. They attempt to make life text book and I believe this is were the frustration comes into place. Capricorns are like Libras in the sense they want to be able to not let there heart speak over there mind. They sometimes get frustrated with others because they feel relationships should be as easy as controlling there own life. They are different from Libras because Libras tend to change there actions for the worst when they have been let down a lot. Capricorns still maintain there own self control but become sad because they don't have the ability to make others care for them the way they desire. This causes them to be really cold to people who don't live there lives the same as the Capricorn way of living or the way they think they should live. I'm a free spirit totally and when a boring Capricorn tries to give me there boring advice I listen and still do what I want to do. Capricorns envy people who enjoy life rich or poor, ugly or pretty and etc because they work so hard to gain approval by chasing shallow things. This causes them to become frustrated and down because to them no matter how hard they try some people want love and adore them. But in reality the Capricorn doesn't love and adore thereself but are too self centered to take the blame and change. When in all actuality they should accept everyone has a path they will follow in life and should accept if the next person likes one thing and they like another they shouldn't get frustrated or down and feel like there less. If other people want listen to them or if they feel others are happy and carefree they should accept this and move on. Caps stand for the cause which is great. But they feel sad and useless when everyone doesn't follow there cause. I'm an Aries take care.

For Capricorns, image means a lot...a lot! Lesser evolved Capricorns usually have such high standards that a lot of times they don't live up to them, which causes them to feel upset with themselves. They often think "if I feel this way about me, others must feel that way too".

I had perfectionist problems, as a Capricorn, and had to realize that no one is perfect, not as long as we are in human form. So, I just do the best I can, however good that is at the time. I also take it one day at a time, and sometimes even one moment at a time. I don't think the world is against me though...never did. Just had to learn that I don't have to be perfect. :)

Hi, I wonder which is your zodiac sign. You have been observant and you do seem to be seeing the same thing again and again in Capricorns but is this because you are starting to ‘look’ for it. Might you for instance be able to say a Piscean wasn’t feeling very confident or wished they had more respect from others if you started looking for it. I think you will notice similar traits in other Sun Signs too. Anyway, Capricorn is ruled by the planet Saturn and this can be quite a restrictive, challenging influence. Capricorns expect high things from themselves. They set themselves high standards and they will be disappointed if in their minds, they have not reached these. They are perfectionists in this respect. They strive to achieve and material rewards is one way of feeling successful. I wonder if you have noticed too how hard working Capricorns are in order to fulfil their ambitions. With Saturn as a ruler when Capricorns are low, they do feel very very low and can get depressed and melancholic. Most Capricorns are practical, careful, methodical and hard working. They have a wonderful sense of humour and they will put in a lot of time and effort in order to achieve. Your description of a Capricorn made me think of Marvin in Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy! But you’ve only focused on the negative. Surely you can see the positive in all these people too?

I don't know about that - my dad was a Capricorn, but he always a doer as opposed to a complainer. He never came across as someone who pitied himself; and he damn sure didn't tolerate that in any of us.
But it does seem however that Caps are their own biggest project. You have Mary J - undisputed queen of hip-hop, and alot of her music is yes about what she's been through, but in her defense, she grew up pretty rough, (no father, sexual and domestic abuse...that's bound to mess anyone up) and it doesn't matter how far you've come, if those demons are still there, you're not progressing. So her music is hard at times, somber in others - but it's true and cathartic for her. I would assume the same for R Kelly - except for that peeing on teenagers part - again, if he comes to terms with that, he will. (I just hope he doesn't write a song about it.)
But you know, music business may not the best point of comparison because the industry itself tends to be harsh and unforgiving - you can make all the money in the world, but what exactly have you sold? (Look at Kurt Cobain - he killed himself, but he wasn't a Capricorn)

It's not that there's anything wrong with Capricorns, just that you are dealing with sunsign astrology, which is NOT what astrology is all about....you would have to have their date, time, and place of birth and do a complete chart on them to find out what their problem is...in general, (again, the sun sign stuff) Capricorns tend be reserved, very hard working and conservative, so they may feel that 'society' is just too playful and carefree, which is not like them!! so they can at times give the impression of being unhappy, etc....they need to learn to look out for other people and quit thinking about themselves all the time...!! but the complete horoscope, or chart, cast for their place, date and time of birth, would give more information than what I just gave from the sun sign perspective!!

It's not that they actually beliee that the world is against them. It's that they have such unobtainable goals, for themselves, that they feel they are never going to achieve them. They don't share these ambitions with others but believe that the world is always watching.

Failure for them, regardless to how great or small, isn't an option. Therefore, they believe nothing is good enough or great enough.

I have a Cap in my family and we've had conversations about realistic and un realistic goals.

I had read up on capricorns a lot at one point because I used to date one, and they were usually pretty dead on. I don't remember reading anything about capricorns having low self esteem, but I think I read that they are usually modest, much like the girl I dated. And they usually put business before pleasure.

Some things are not true.The capricorn people I know are admired by other people.But still they are soooo mean.And What I hate about them the most is they hurt other people's feelings.
