your credit score will only go up over time as you pay your bills on time every month. Don't fall into the trap of anyone who says they can "clear up" your credit or make it better quickly. They are either lying or doing something illegal.

The only things I know of that you can do to help raise your score quickly is to:
A - pay down your credit cards to less than 35% of your available credit (example, if the limit on your credit card is $1000 and your balance is $750, send in a payment of at least $400 so that you are using less than 35% of the limit) Do this with all of your credit card (revolving credit) accounts.
B - check your credit report and make sure there are no mistakes showing late payments where you paid on time
How much this helps your score depends on your particular situation. It won't solve all your problems, but I can honestly say that doing both of these things helped me raise my score.
If you're experiencing inconsistent cash flow, try taking a look at your bills and prioritizing them differently. Some cards/bills will charge very large late fees if you are even one day late, while others may not do that right away. Call and ask, don't be shy. I found that I was overlooking that when paying my bills -- I changed the order that I paid them according to that and that helped me start getting ahead faster. You can also negotiate the due date with some companies. Most do not report you as paying late until your account is 30 days past due -- and some will not report you if you make a payment arrangement with them by phone.
Good luck!

Sadly, you CAN'T raise your credit score quickly. It takes time. The best thing you can do is to make certain you pay everything ON TIME no matter what. If you can't do that, your credit score is not going to grow. Don't get me wrong! Emergencies suck, and I've had a few, but my credit suffered for it. That is a fact of life. As soon as you can, get control again and start making sure you pay everything on time. There is no quick fix. The stuff on television does not work, because they don't fix your credit, they just lower your payments, and often at a hefty price.

CREDIT is SOOOO easy to get that KIDS are kidding it now----getting it, charging it and UNABLE TO PAY FOR IT.... if emergencies keep coming up NOW, what would happen if you got a credit card and charged things??? Emergencies don't just STOP because you have more bills you know..... I for one am SICK TO DEATH of people who get credit who can't afford that credit and they go out and charge to the HILT and then claim bankruptsy so they get away with NOT PAYING THEIR CREDIT CARDS and most times are able to KEEP the objects they basically STOLE....it's legal robbery as far as I am concerned and what it has DONE is continually raise the interest rates on EVERYTHING you or anyone else buys on CREDIT in order for the companies to recoup their loses from people who WON'T pay their creditors. Which means, WE PAY FOR THOSE WHO DON'T!!!!! So, until you can stop having "emergencies" I wouldn't even THINK of going for credit if I were you.... HOWEVER, when you are ready, there ARE ways to help but NOT to speed it up. There are car dealers out there who WILL let you purchase new cars to "help re-establish credit".... you will be paying a higher interest rate BUT, if you make every payment ON TIME, you will have a positive on your credit report and companies might be more likely to issue credit to you---HOWEVER, while paying off this carloan you get, you ALSO have to pay all your OTHER bills on time as well or else all the timely payments in the world will not boost your credit rating.... it's kind of a "CATCH 22", but it's the only system we have so we have to deal with it......

I am interested in hearing what to do as well. The only thing I've ever heard to raise my credit score is get a credit card and pay on time every time. The problem is no credit card company will approve me!

look up one of the credit counseling services that they advertise on tv all the time. I'm in the same boat, so I can't offer much advice. My credit score stinks. If there was a negative score I'd have it.

There is no "magic fix" for your credit score-- it takes time to build credit, and time to rebuild it. Just avoid high balances on credit cards, pay off what you can, and, of course, pay everything on time.
