Physic stems from the Greek for nature and encompasses anything that describes the physical properties of nature, including natural laws such as gravity. Physics is a very broad field that provides a solid foundation for all other science, where science means to know.

It could be considered a basic science because all other sciences derive from it. Chemistry depends on understanding the structure of atoms and how they interact (physics) and biology relies on chemistry. Physics is considered fundamental for that reason.

It's actually considered the *most* basic science. The sciences are generally consider to be hierarchical in the sense that it is possible, at least in principle, to reduce them to (describe them in terms of) a more fundamental branch of science given sufficient knowledge. This is referred to as "reductionism". Biology reduces to chemistry, and chemistry reduced to physics, for example. The reason they don't reduce them now is that it is too complicated and phenomenological properties are required to make progress. One cannot determine the number of legs on a spider from DNA analysis at present, for example. Physics is the lowest rung on the ladder. Math seems more fundamental to some, but it's not a science.

Because you can apply it to everyday situations. If something is falling, how fast will it reach the ground? Obviously, you WON'T always have time to calculate, but it is basic in that you will probably need to do something like that at some point. Also, a lot of other science is built upon physics.

Chemistry and Biology can both be reduced to principles in physics. But then physics can be further reduced to mathematics, so maths is really the most basic.

it is the basic of all science and technology. Without physics ther is no chemistry, no biology. So its really basic. Chemist and biologist are learning physics without knowing. To master anything you must learn physics.

Because it is the fundamental of all the sciences. And maths is mother of all sciences. I hope you agree. Even though maths may not be science, but science needs maths to prove itself!!!
