Water stops the flow of your period, so it doesn't matter how long you swim, shower or bath for, the flow will stop. Just be careful when you get out because it'll start to flow again. A friend of mine who was an Olympic swimmer used nothing when she was on her period, but took a dark towel with her and washed her costume every day??? I dunno, i prefer tampons, but good luck anyway...

Don't do that!
It does NOT stop in water, no matter what anyone says. It may slow, but it will not stop, and you will be quite an embarrassed girl to have blood running down your leg when you get out of the water.
Wear a tampon or don't swim.

water doesnt stop your flow, what it does is wash the blood away so it appears as though you are no longer bleeding. someone above me mentioned that as soon as you step out of the water you will have noticeable bleeding and they are RIGHT. use a tampon, avoid inevitable embarrassment

Wear a tampon. Though temporary it may cease , you'll bleed once you get out of the pool.
