It depends are you giving a gift to your dad or your husband or both? If it is for your dad, write him a letter telling him how much you love him - this could be the last Father's Day he has. (No really, don't assume there will be another one).
If it is for your husband - it all depends on how old your kids are, etc.
I'm sorry but your ? was just to vague to answer properly.

The grill would be memorable....if you want to be more meaningful have a plate laminated with his name on it.''TEDS Grill''. It might sound Korny, but it's been a long 9 months for both of you. It's ok to get something that does not seem for an appropirate occassion. It's a gift.... a gift he will always remember and always use.

This is my husband's first father's day; I got him a gold bracelet that says "#1 Dad" I know that he wants it. I got him a different gift card from each of the boys (we have triplets) and my daughter is giving him some nice cologne.

Give him a gift certificate or card to his favorite store. Home Depot, Sports Authority, The Sharper Image, Best Buy, etc....Anywhere dad likes to buy his favorite gadgets.
Please don't give him another tie. ;o)
