On December 26th, a day after Christmas, he celebrated his 700 wickets in Tests bowling by getting Andrew Strauss out on the first day of the fourth Test. His figures for the first innings read 5-39, making you wonder if this man should ever retire.
He then took his thousand wicket in international cricket with Monty Panesar in the last test match in Sydney- this signaled the end of era, the end of Warne’s leg spinning magic. His test figures stand at 708 wickets

Shane Warne has an extraordinary batting record too!
He has scored a total of 3154 runs, without even one century, and he is third on the list for scoring the highest number of ducks. His highest score is 99.

I still believe that Martin Crowe is the best batsman that ever graced the pitch and Ian Smith the best wicket keeper and Sir Richard Hadlee the best bowler despite being earlier and without such records as Warnie and whoever else's these days who with the exception of Lara wouldn't even make the cut back in those days based on the scientific fact that it was a different era of the game, proven also by the way that pele was the greatest footballer also no matter whoever comes later. My favorite footballer remains Maradonna for other reason's perhaps the same reason's Warnie give's his reason's accurately defining Tendukar as the best batsman in today's game of which I agree with. I would be willing to bet these new record takers would have gone home crying if they had to go through a bodyline tour. And if anyone wants to match their recent mvp's against MJ (jordan) in disproving my science then by all means.
