They probably won't do another ultrasound or internal exam today unless they have classified you as high risk. It should be a much shorter visit! Most of your visits from now on will go a lot like this: get weighed, pee in a cup, have your blood pressure read, listen to baby's heartbeat (the best part!), and talk with your doctor about any concerns either of you have. Around 20 weeks they'll do another ultrasound, around 24 weeks they'll do a glucose screening test (where you drink this nasty sugary stuff and they test your blood periodically to see how you're processing the sugar and make sure you're not having gestational diabetes), and around 36 weeks they'll start back up with the internal exams to check for dialation and effeacement. Have fun! :)

To reply your query: in my view, it is best to inform your loved ones at Christmas, however I would not make extra commonplace bulletins till in a while. Statistically, possibilities are that you are going to NOT miscarry, however you know there's a hazard of it, and so much miscarriages do occur within the first trimester. If you inform your households now, you can get to proportion your pleasure and pleasure (which certainly you wish to do, so it seems like you might have a well courting along with your households), that's exotic. It additionally signifies that, IF you have been to miscarry, you can be in a position to show on your loved ones for romance and aid -- that's worthy. I would not make being pregnant bulletins now for a few factors: for something, as soon as the phrase will get out, it is all quite public -- take a while for you and your husband (along with your households, of path) to appreciate the inside track, there is time to proportion it later; for a further factor, IF you have been to miscarry, it is simply extra awkward while tons of individuals knew you have been pregnant. Please do not fear approximately miscarriage -- as I stated, possibilities are you'll move directly to have a healthful little one!! Yes, it is a hazard, however do not fail to spot the thrill of finding out you are pregnant considering that of it! Congratulations, and fine of good fortune!

Today they will just try to listen to the baby with an external doppler device. The dr may feel your belly just to see how it;s growing but may not as well. See if you have any questions or concerns. Go over any bloodwork results. Thats it. Pretty simple for the next few visits.

Go with answer one - but I just wanted to add that the orange drink isn't that bad - it's tastes like really sweet orange soda - I wouldn't drink it for pleasure - but it's nothing to stress about :)
