Why only the net ? Surprisingly, they did have spy planes back then. I don't know if you've seen the older Snoopy cartoons or not, but he would dress up as the red baron? that is what it was like, they were barons, so you would want to look up that words meaning, that can give you more material. Also, I heard they used women as spies too, to get into to the enemy commanders hearts (I'm keeping it clean here ok) just like 007 had to put up with-poor man.
