Does anyone else think its a bit odd that the friend who saw a child in her pyjamas and blanket being carried by a man. Then took weeks to say anything?

Sorry I was under the impression that this was only told recently. Still 30 minutes from seeing the child to her mother finding her missing, should have given the police some clues.

According to the Police Conference, someone was seen carrying somethng that might have been a child. Almost the next day, as far as I can remember, the story had changed from 'object' to 'Maddie'. Who was responsible for that contradiction I don't know but, like everything else in this case it just beggars belief.

she told the police within an hour of madeleines disappearance what she had seen under portuguese law suspects descriptions are not publicised the mccanns lawyer met with police on the day it was announced and said that basically if they did not give the description out to the public they would take legal action as it is a vital clue in the case which is why it was revealed so hastily the friend told the mccanns straight after they realised madeleine was missing who told the police straight away
so maybe the real odd thing is the portuguese law that stopped it from being publicised

jan to be fair the person reported it to the police on the night it happened. The McCanns are saying that the police seem disinterested in the information and just buried it and it took threats of legal action for the sighting to be allowed to be publicised.
What is strange though is she initially saw an object she thought could be a child, but now she's saying it was definitely Maddie. I dont know how she could have changed her statement so drastically considering the man had his back to her (her words).

This friend told the Portugese police the night the McCanns called the police, but it wasn't made public until recently due to the laws in Portugal.

It's really horrible what has happened but what about all the other kids that have gone missing over the years?!? They didn't get any big fuss made and yellow ribbons. When this is all over I personally think the parents should face charges of neglect, I've got 3 nieces who live wit me an' the most I've ever been away from them was a room away......That's it! I wouldn't go off to a Restaurant 80 metres away from where I was living.......Especially in another country.

Yes that is just one of the many things that dont add up in this case. If it was a true friend of the family dont you think that she would have said something within minutes of seeing her, let alone 2 weeks after the event and all the media fiasco!

If you knew that children were being left alone and that you saw someone that looked like he was holding your friends daughter would you be more curious? I dont blame her because of the situation she was in was not her fault...
But when we go on holiday dont we tell the neghbours so that if there is a light on in the house it should ring alarm bells!

what variety of folk are those. noticeably knowledgeable scientific professonals and that they are able to't even seem after their own youngsters. no longer in elementary terms did all of them go away their youngsters each and every night, however the only stated as Russel checked on his daughter. She replaced into being ill. He stayed somewhat longer together with her....... and then WENT back TO THE TAPAS BAR!!!!!! how in the international are you able to go away your little ones on my own, yet to go away them on my own whilst they're being ill and feeling ill. Any non scientific guy or woman could understand that she could have been ill back in her mattress and choked on it. What a vile bunch they're. they ought to ALL be achieved with negligence. yet properly achieved for letting us see this. some thing very very fishy happening right here. i've got constantly stated that they have got been suspicious looking from the week after Maddy went lacking.

Was this woman not reported to have said that maddies mother reported her missing 40 munutes after having witnessed this. So much for checking up every half hour
