one of my best friends have been talking to me far less often. ive known him for 4 years and he used to always sit beside me and think im funny. but now he never sits beside me and whenever i make a joke he just says that its embarrasing. i know that im funny because the other people beside me laugh but he doesn't anymore. i think this is all because of one of his old best friends from his last school came into this school this year. i really need your help because were drifting apart fast and i don't even know if i consider him my 'best' friend now! please help!

He may just be getting older and not seeing the same things that he use to do as interesting or fun anymore. OR he could be going through a difficult time in his life. Explain how you feel to him. If he is your friend the two of you should be able to communicate.

Unfortunately, people change. You change. Your family changes. And your friend is changing. People drift apart. That's just a fact of life. All you can do is sit down with him, tell him how you feel, and ask him what is up. Maybe he just isn't interested in being your friend anymore. It isn't necessarily your fault. BUT... maybe he is just going through a hard time or is adjusting to changes in his life. Talk to him about it and find out. Let him know how you feel and that you want to help if possible. If nothing changes, then it is time to move on and make new friends. In the overall scheme of things, although it does suck, it is no big deal.

I would first ask him, not quite directly "hey man are we good?" When he asks you what do you mean, tell him, you are not hanging out like you did before, and feel strange vibes that he isn't into your jokes or hanging out with you like he was before. Ask him if you did something that made him mad to get him to start talking, even when you know you didn't.
