Scientists are perplexed over this very issue. In the animal kingdom a dog shows its teeth when angry, however a chimp shows teeth when laughing. Maybe they are smiling at you because they want to be adopted and hope that you have a good dental plan at work, and wouldn't mind handing out a few shekels to improve someone's life via dentistry. Wait, did you mean weird, or wired? If they are already wired due to braces then maybe they just want to borrow your toothbrush.

I agree.... My kids teeth are bigger than their mouths right now - until their jaws grow. I can't wait to see them grow out of this phase !
