That's a very nice question.. I think they should reduce them and they also must allow regular people to park close to the door while the HC should park away,, cause HC have wheels to move around, we don't.

In some places where there's like ALWAYS at least 5 handicap spots available, they could be reduced by at least a couple. But I've only ever seen one situation that was really bad that way, at the university I used to go to. They had like 15 handicap parking spaces at the one building (ALWAYS at least 5 handicap spots available), and only about 5 regular spots close to the building. It was 30 min max parking for non-handicap anyway, but often I would have to park way up the hill and waste 10 min walking when I'm in a hurry. In most cases tho, I say no, they should not reduce them, just in case.

There are like 3 or 4 per lane at most big stores like WalMart and they're always empty. Each spot takes up 2 spaces so that's 6 spots.. We really don't need 6 spots per lane dedicated to wheelchair accessible vehicles do we? Also at movie theaters with the new nice seats they take the best spot right in the middle of the theatre and designate it for people in wheelchairs as if there are so many people in wheel chairs going to the movies. Again I never see anyone.. They had a full row and then another empty row with no seats so they have room to roll across the floor and now its extremely difficult to go out to the movies its really dumb you can never get a seat anymore.. I don't think they need to take out dozens of seats from the theatre (the best seats in the theatre by the way) just in case some people in wheelchairs decide to show up.. We really need to stop giving away the best of everything to handicapped people.. Also the handicapped stalls in the bathroom..

No, i don't think they should reduce the number of spaces for the handicapped. I would feel terrible if I saw a handicapped person having to walk from a distance when it would be more convenient for he or she to park much closer. At he same time, I have seen cars without handicapped stickers parked in those spaces. They should be towed away immediately.

I wonder the same thing. I think they need to make more Mother with Infants parking spots, because when I have a big A** car seat to carry into the store I think im handicap! No i have never seen a handicap person looking for a place to park! I do however see a lot of empty handicap parking spots that I could park in!

I dont really care about handicapped parking, Walking ain't good for handicapps or else they wouldn't be handicapped, but us other americans could all use some walkin' now-a-days. Except for those twig celebrities, they need some deep fried chicken, and they need to let it go all the way through too.

I don't think so. You are just saying that so you could park in the first parking spot at the mall. You are young and healthy (at least I think so) and you will live. Walking is good for you.
I know what you mean, it is annoying to park at the very last parking spot but the disabled people are people with special needs so they need the parking spots in front. And there aren't that many parking spots for them anyway, comparing to the regular ones.
So just live with it.

I think it depends where you are. At some places around my neck of the woods, the handicap places are always filled. We have a lot of elderly people in our area, though, so it just about makes sense.

lol....I agree. I hate going to walmart and having to park a mile from the store and notice 10 empty handicapped parking spots. It is very aggravating. Its like they expect every hanicapped person in the state to all be at the store at the same time.
