Hi all,

My friends have been pressuring me that I should try to be a Comedian since they say I tell the most hillarious jokes and stories, they suggested I should try my local Stand Up Comedy Clubs. I was wondering, how do you apply or audition? I just want to give it a shot to see either if I am that good as they say I am or not. And what are the do's and don'ts can you give from a complete amateur who never did anything like this? Thanks for any help and suggestions

I've never done it, so I can't tell you from experience, but my guess would be that you just walk in and ask. Maybe ask for a manager. You may even possibly find a bulletin board with info on auditions.

You need to start off by having at least five minutes of material. Try to stay with original stuff too, getting beat down by a comic would be humiliating.
Then rehearse it until you have it down pat.
Then go to the clubs and find out when they have an open mic night. Be prepared for hecklers, or even worse...total silence.
Good luck, I'll watching for you on Comedy Central.

Go to the club and ask them. Watch other comedians and see how they handle the pressure of doing stand-up. If you cant stand the heat from all the heckling, don't do a Michael Richards.
