Having lived in Mobile for many years, I would say its both, but would lean toward the "boon" area. With the new multibillion dollar steel mill due to start construction any day, and with all the aerospace industry speculations, things are going to be very "boonish". Which in the long run, if not handled properly could become a curse.

If you are talking about the city it's great, if you are talking about a phone it is an electronic leash.
