In my view, Irfan Pathan has the potential of being an all-rounder.But currently he is low in confidence, his bowling is good enough to fear legendry batsmen. He swings the ball very well ,which is,a very good and rare quality found in bowlers as well as he is a spearhead bowler. He is also found intrested in batting, not only his intrest, but his past records are also comparable. He has smashed around 5 fifty's in ODI's against formidable teams with 86 as his best against SriLanka. He can really come up as a great all-rounder if trained in the right direction. Not only Irfan but many others like yuvraj singh 'coz he is the best batsmen in the current Indian team.If you check his past records he was awarded "The Man Of The Series" thrice in the year 2006.And if u have observed him while on the crease, he never gets out he only gets run out.He can also be taken as a handy bowler.

Though Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag, Saurav Ganguly and Yuvaraj Singh can be considered as allrounders as they are capable of bowling apart from their specialised task of batting, I do not think that there is any true allrounder in the Indian Team at present.
However, Irfan Pathan is a potential allrounder for the future if groomed up properly.

India doesn't had a proper all rounder now.All the bataman are part time bowlers.Irfan pathan could have become a good all rounder but he couldn't.

All rounder you have made us think, this is the reason why ganguly was picked as our specialist all rounder.
In one dayers you have got batting all rounders like sewag, yuraj, who else.
It is high time INDIA produces at least one more KAPILDEV.

irfan pathan is the best, though if you go on his current form his bowling is not good enough, despite him traditionally being a bowler. his batting has well and truly been good enough, and in fact almost kept him in the side by itself. he will become their all-rounder if he can regain his bowling form, simple as that

for me if its gonna be anyone its gonna be yuvraj singh he's an awesome player when he wants to be ... im impressed by his all round skills obviously he could improve his bowling a bit but fielding and batting is top notch and bowling will hopefully for him come as time progresses..
