In terms of college career I think so because with 2 seasons in LSU he averaged 29 pts.,4 assists, 47% FG, 87%FT, 37% 3FG. But when he entered in the NBA he was just an ordinary player and didn't really became a superstar unlike what he did in LSU.

Mahmoud Abdul-Rauf (born Chris Wayne Jackson on March 9, 1969 in Gulfport, Mississippi) is an American former professional basketball player.

Abdul-Rauf changed his name in 1991 upon his conversion to Islam. After a record-setting college career at Louisiana State University, he was selected with the third pick in the 1990 NBA Draft by the Denver Nuggets.

He led the league in free throw percentage in 1994 and 1996, narrowly missing (for one missed free throw) the NBA all-time record for free-throw percentage in a single season in 1993-94 (he went 219-229 from the line for a 0.956 percentage as opposed to Calvin Murphy's 0.958 (206-215) all-time record dating back to 1980-81).

Chris Jackson was a solid player for the Nuggets in the 90s, and really great at free throws, but better than Iverson? Well, put it this way. Jackson has been retired for a couple of years (although I hear he has played some in Europe, which doesn't seem to indicate that he is all that good if he isn't here), and do you hear any talk about him being considered for the Hall of Fame? No. But when Iverson retires, he'll be a shoo-in.

he was an explosive scoring guard in a PG's body. a tremendous shooter and FT shooter. entered the slam dunk contest...and i dont even recall ever seeing him throw it down in a regualar game. after changing his name to mahmoud abdul rauf, probably most famout for his refusal to stand during the national anthem....

he had a great career in college...and might of even had a better career than AI did statistically speaking in college...but it didnt translate into much during his nba campaign.
