No reputable agency should ever ask for a fee to do anything for their clients before they have found them work. This is the point of the agent - they take a cut of the money made through the jobs they've got for the client. If they are as interested as they claim to be, and are an upstanding agency, they should want to put your son on their website as they will earn money that way. In short - DO NOT PAY!

This is a scam, run the other way. They will take his money and never give him any work. The BBC did an expose on this sort of thing last year. They will try to get him to pay for several months and he will never get any work, they'll make sympathetic noises but that's it.
In a real modelling agency THEY pay HIM.
If he wants to be a model he'll have to invest in a "book" of different photos and put it round all the decent agencies.

I am afraid it is a scam.
Legitimate agencies tend to scout for models...he could be spotted anywhere, even on the street, and they will not charge you for starting a portfolio because, at the end of the day, they will make money from him because they get a percentage of every shoot or show he gets contracted for.
Another way that legitimate angencies find models is by allowing people to send in photos and go to auditions...but again, they never ask for money.
Scammers prey on people by flattering them, saying they have got what it takes to be a model...blah blah blah. But they will take your money and never find you work because it is such a competative field. If your son has what it takes then he should audition for a legit agency, meaning you will not be out of pocket.

just guessing is the modelling agency that has accepted your son bizzykids because so has my daughter, i have checked up on them and they do seem legitamate, apaarently modeling agency for children all charge a fee for certain things and 120 quid isnt bad compared to some of the others, its actually the modelling agency for adults that u shouldnt pay any money to, and if this is the one off fee untill they are 17 years old then i dont think you are being conned, check out there site and also her there clients are and email them. also are they asking you to fill at legit forms as well as licence that all children need to work. hope this helps.

Modeling agencies will NEVER ask you for money, if they do they are a scam. No matter how professional they seem a real modeling agency would NEVER EVER ask for money, I say you pull your son out of this immediately. Then go try some interviews at a real modeling agency...I wish you and your son luck.

I wouldn't trust it. However, you can ask them if you have to sign some terms and conditions for example whether this fee is refundable, ie: if you decide to leave the agency, if your son does not get any work through them (some agencies/companies promise specific outcomes or 'money back guaranted', this kind of thing...)

DO NOT GIVE THEM A PENNY!!
Whereabouts in the country are you, coz I know there is a model agency in the North West that has the WORST owner.
She is idle and nasty, and has £ signs in the eyes constantly - sod the kids!!
If they insist, either walk away, or tell them they can deduct it in installments from whatever jobs they get for your son.
I wish you and your lovely son the absolute best.
I hope this helps!

No, reputable agencies may charge you a very small admin fee, but £120.00 is too much. If they can get the work for him, they will make their money that way, so why would they need to charge you upfront? You can find other ways in, don't waste your money.

i find it fishy. ok there can be a fee for attending the model classes, but to ask money for promoting their own models, it`s wrong and 120 pounds is a serious sum of money.
they should put up models on the web site for free, because the models work for them anyway, right?
it seems like a con to me.
