For all those who were offended by my original question. Mr McCann has been in the news considerably more than twice and is never perturbed. You are all sucked in by team mccann but cant see it. try to think for yourself and ask yourself this. Is this the only missing child out there? really? think about it. Are you so concerned for the millions , yes millions of others in the world. No?. Perhaps that is because their less fortunate parents cant afford a media circus. This case is no more traumatic than the hundreds of cases of need we see on comic relief ONCE a year. Why should these people deserve round the clock coverage. Why should hundreds of thousands of pounds be donated to them instead of helping millions in Africa. This is one girl, one case and it is their own fault. That is harsh but it is true. If we give every instance of child abduction this kind of coverage, their would be nothing else on T.V. Thousands will die in Africa this week, but dont worry. It'll not be on TV

am sorry but you are too cruel. We shouldn't concentrate on the circumstances that led to her abduction but getting her back. It is not Maddies fault that she was taken, she should get all the help needed to bring her home. How would you feel if it was a relation of yours.

Yes the parents feel guilty and have done wrong but they have been punished enough. My heart goes out to them.

Agree with you completely. The support from the media and our government is totally baffling.
If you compare one issue alone, how about Darfur? Yes it has had some coverage, but how many people are suffering there? How many are innocent children? The coverage has been minute compared to the Mccann's. I say the Mccann's and not Madeleine, because the whole media circus centres on them.
The parents barely even mention her name, very strange really, I'm surprised that none of the mainstream tabloids haven't picked up on that yet.
I get angry when i think of all the children in the world with truly crap lives. Child soldiers, child prostitutes, children working in sweat shops, children abducted, their is a lot of evil in the world. Why cant the media and the celebs care a bit more about them?
Oh yes, we do of course have Comic relief bi annually, wonderful....

Or how about using the money to give to parents of missing children so they can hire Private Investigators to reopen the case and lets try to solve ALL of these missing child reports. Or as you said in Africa. I know I know some hate Simon Cowell but his efforts against Africa and the special that was televised during american Idol made me even more upset that more help is not offered there. I'm glad they put that out there and good on him for showing us and for all of American Idol people. Give me some money and I will go over and get the 12 year old boy who is raising his 5 or 6 year old sister because both of his parents died of aids. How come this poor child and he is a child is a parent and having to be an adult. He is more responsible if you ask me then the McCanns were. He makes sure his sister is fed...has a roof over her head even though my backyard shed is a healthier living enviroment. He and she both go to school everyday. I guarentee if 1% of money raised was given to him he and his sister would not have to live so badly. How about aids medications given to these parents. Had they had proper medication they could have lived for many many many years so their children could at least become adults. That is proven just buy a story aired on my local news last night. The first baby born in Maine with aids virus graduated from highschool this past weekend. He is healthy because he has the proper meds. Grrrrrr. Just makes me mad. What is on the news is bad stuff because people only want to see bad things. Nobody wants to see what good has come out of sending our troops to Afghanistan, or Iraq. Nobody wants to see the efforts missionaries are making all over the world to help people, nobody wants to see what is going on in the Sudan or China because they would then have to see the harm they are doing by not helping. I think I would keel over and die if I saw some positive media out there.

Very well put but will make my feeble attempt to raise my point. How can you conclude that Mr.McCann is "never perturbed"? Would you feel better if he sobbed or wailed or tore at his hair? Different people react differently. No, sadly little Madeleine is not the only missing child in our wretched world. But if, God forbid, she were your own (and i know you would never ever leave your babies unattended just like i never ever would) wouldn't you do every single thing in your control & beyond to get her back, regardless of the venom in peoples accusations regarding your motive. i hope you would b'cos all that matters is getting your baby back. For all the other missing children & other tragedies i wish they could get the same coverage & hope that everyone will make good nets of the net to create awareness like the way the McCanns have done for their Madeleine. What a load of ****!!! If child abduction is that wide spread its about time it was brought to peoples attention so the problem can be addressed. Comic relief is mainly about other countries.....**** them we got our own problems right here in Britain. If you dont like it go and move to Portugal where they have the same lax attitude to child abduction......

.

We know the world is full of problems just as big as the Mc Cann's , but sicko comments about the McCanns who are using their undoubted brains and talent in a desperate attempt to rescue their child will be applauded by all civilised people. Your mention of the World's other problems is an excuse to allow you to spit venom

So I would describe such comments as venom spitting loser drivel

people keep saying there are a lot of other missing children why is madeleine getting so much coverage instead why dont you come on and talk about the other missing children or at least mention their names instead of yet another unnecesary question about madeleine
also i checked the national missing persons website and madeleine is the only missing british four year old who was taken from her bed by god knows who all the other children have been taken by a parent or run off with somebody they know

Im not offended by your opinion. I am quite able to think for myself and make decisions. All over the world there are children missing, its awful, no doubt about that. In the UK the majority of children abducted, have been taken by a parent and are alive and well. (check missing persons website) Any children that are abducted by strangers are alway in the media and constantly updated on tv, think of Holly and Jessica, unfortuantely their case ended with a tragedy, had they been missing for longer, the media would have covered it, growing more by the day.

The McCanns do not get around the clock tv coverage. They have a small portion on the news. Just because he is held together when talking on tv does not mean to say he is like that behind closed doors, i dont know what he is like, so dont feel that I am able to comment, its not smart to comment on stuff without having the facts..

Because people on here complain about the McCann witchhunt does not mean for one minute that they have no concern for anyone else, that is a ridiculous statement so get off your soap box, think for yourself and try and think up an original question to post.

You may only get involved once a year with comic relief but dont paint us all with the same brush! Would love to know how much time and money you give to help Africa.

In actual fact, depending on what type of tv you watch, their is lots of coverage about the plight of the people in Chad! or are you too busy channel surfing trying to find the McCanns?

If people wish to donate thousands of pounds its upto them, if you didnt, why are you so bothered. To these parents its as traumatic as it gets, its not their fault that a paedophile snatched her, only a few months ago, a little girl was snatched from her bath...

I am 99% confident that this whole thing is orchestrated (note I reserve the 1% to be wrong)

If it was orchestrated then never in a million years would they have thought it would have created this much media interest and now they have to play it .

Play it well and enjoy whilst you do because when the truth comes out you can enjoy even more media

As I see it at the moment you are guilty of

NEGLECT - FACT
LYING - FACT

Can't wait to add more to this list

That's the parents dealt with

---------------------------------------------------

Now let's find this child and bring her home !
