You republicans are such warmongers which you're constantly paranoid that somebody else would be as undesirable as you're. Obama will scare Putin much less because of the fact he's honest-minded and can be extra effective to barter with rather of a few wild and loopy hardliner like McCain. If I have been Putin, i could be extra frightened of McCain because of the fact who's established with what he will do next and that could probably improve the prospect of conflict. With Obama, i might probably like the guy and could make peace.

Most politicians scare me. Putin is no exception.
I am, of course terribly naive because I believe that the functions of government include a duty to provide a safe and secure environment in which it's citizens can live happily.
Obviously I am quite wrong as it appears the main pre-occupation of politicians is power (to get into power; to stay in power; to get more power; to take power away from others; and other powerful issues).
I do not consider taking one's country into a state of war is good politics but neither is neglecting security. It is a difficult balance for mere men to sustain.
Perhaps it's time for a world police force (but who would run it or corrupt it) and the total disarmament of all member countries (but what about non-members).
Whatever way you look at it a state of war means that the involved politicians have failed in their duty. They should resign or be fired and allow possibly more able meglamaniacs to have chance.

Not at all.
He knows that there is a coming threat to him from China. The media in the rest of the world choses not to report on the sporadic fighting between China and Russia, but that doenst mean it isnt happening. China is really flexing its muscles. They have made it clear what they can do. They have no room and no resources. China and Russia have ready access to oil, specifically from countries scorned by the US, countries that respond strongest to force. Theyre biggest competition is China, so they have to use force. Theyre in a portion of the world where a show of force is the best way to get respect.
China has no resources of its own, only what it can import. It has no space. It has has tons of technology. They will eventually expand-its either into friend or worthless territory, or into Russia. The US will have to get involved. At this point the US isnt going to get to pick which one to be friends with, its going to be picking which one can destroy the US easier.
Hopefully it will be Russia, since they will come out of it will less power over the rest of the world.

No. Putin, whatever his past history, is a very intelligent man, an astute politician, who is fighting his corner in the interests of his country. I wish we could say the same of our leaders in Europe and the USA, who seem to be motivated more by self-interest than anything else.

Not really. He's just flapping his gums. He knows he couldn't threaten America directly so he's relying on his threats to Europe putting pressure on the Americans instead.
His threats of an arms race are also farcical. Russia can't afford an arms race. It would bankrupt the nation if it tried to keep up with America again.
Besides, what the hell does America think it's doing? The worldwide threat isn't from communism anymore and the fruitcakes in Washington would do well to remember that.

No- he's cool. He reminds me of the old school Ruskies. And he's massively popular with the electorate. He truly is bringing stability to the mess that was Yeltsin's Russia.
The military and the public officials now get paid. The Russian economy is under control of the government- not the Jewish oligarchy
Russian economy is the fastest growing in Europe.
Bush and Blair are far more menacing.

I love it how the redundant liberal drones spin the question to snipe at Bush...
the question was does Putin scare you?
Putin doesn't even scare his own people..
what scares me is state sanctioned poisoning of Gov't detractors...
if that becomes the norm..there are a bunch of people at Yahoo who better watch what they order while out on the town.

PUTIN'S reaction comes from an American action!!
soimple as it gets!!
if a country thoudans of milles away from your country wants to put a Balistic base in your neighbouring country your reaction will be the same don't you think ?
the equilibrium cannot be broken in this world .
if one country overexeed the weaponery power that means get control of the world !!!
so Putins is going to make sure the equillibrium don't break .
if is not Putin who will do it will be China . who you prefer?

It doesn´t make sense to me, (what putin is doing)
America says: so, we´re gonna put some new missle defense shield in Europe to protect our allies from possible missle threats from Iran...
Russia´s response: fine, you want to put missle defense systems next to our country, we´ll just aim our missles at different targets (in europe)
i think, i´ll have to ask this question next.
