or a person who is drop dead gorgeous..as in WHOAH gorgeous.....but the personality doesnt really coincide with what you look for in a guy....

I'd have to go with the guy with a compatible personality.
He might not look like my ideal, but he would begin to look more attractive to me because I'd be drawn to his heart, mind, etc... The hot guy might be appealing for a little while, but for one thing, looks will fade, and secondly, if we're not even in the slightest bit compatible, he wouldn't be all that attractive to me anyhow.

You must mean by "not your type" someone who is not physically gorgeous, I guess. Most of the world is made up of people who don't fit into the "beauty standard" and what a lonely world it would be if everyone was only chosen for their looks! Most people would end up alone! Luckily, most of us have personality to fall back on.
