Does anyone else find it intimidating sometimes walking past pubs when the punters are all hanging around the front entrance having a cigarette?

The only reason I'm asking is that my boyfriend stays in a flat beside the pub and the close is between the two buildings. Because it's a local holiday today, the pub was really busy and about 15 or so people were standing outside - all staring at me as I went past lol

Perhaps a small area at the back of the pub should be built for smokers.
But i must say they have every right to stand there and have a cigarette , after all the smoking ban was forced on them.
If you do feel intimidated cross the road.

Yes especially when there is a bus stop outside the pub and they use up all the seats.

No. If they can't smoke inside, where else can they go? You can't make people stop if they don't want to. Most people are friendly, not intimidating, unless non-smokers give them the evils.
PUNTER = Customer

Yeah and I'm a guy. I hate it because they look like townies etc. They should be done for loitering with intent to smoke.
I even hate it more than a smoke filled barroom. The government definately got it wrong... ONCE AGAIN!

Yes, especially when they make snide remarks. But mostly I try to avoid walking by those places.
