Of course silly. Science is the end-all and be-all of the Universe. It can and will explain everything eventually. As for your question, it is said we are attracted with someone who has an opposite set of immune-system markers.

haha due to your interesting qs, I found few articles about the "chemistry of love". I don't know how true they are.. But I think i still believe falling in love is more on fate than the chemistry ^^ Here we go:
http://www.buzzle.com/editorials/3-27-2004-52238.asp
First, there is an attraction between two person. This is supposedly the 1st stage of love: falling in love.
An attraction causes a virtual explosion of neurochemicals then assists by 3 chemicals, Phenylethylamine (speed up the flow of information btw cells); dopamine (that makes us glow and feel good), and norepinephrine (that stimulates the production of adrenalin), make our world go round, our eyes sparkle and our heart beat faster. So, the 'high' of being in love is due to a rush of phenylethylamine and dopamine.
The stronger the attraction the more the secretion of the chemicals in our body.

Some human behaviour is influenced by the chemistry in body, like
SEX: It is characterized by testosterone, a steroid hormone that primarily secreted in testes and ovaries. (A s**t usually have high level of testosterone hee).
The sweaty palms and pounding heart of infatuation are caused by higher than normal levels of norepinepherine.
INFIDELITY: Researchers have found that suppression of vasopressin can cause males (voles, anyway) to abandon their love nest and seek new mates.
LASTING LOVE confers chemical benefits in the form of stabilized production of serotonin and oxytocin.

It's all about hormones.
Yes, it can be explained by science but most people don't want to think their own brains are being controlled by some chemical hormone.

Love keeps a couple together and their offspring will have a better chance for survival with 2 parents instead of just one, so there is an evolutionary advantage.

To an extent. This world is made out of love, and is moving towards love, but God's Love transcends matter, and God is Love, so as I said, only to an extent.
