Well done and they can tell the sex on your 20 week scan though that is not always 100%

This depends on where you are and how much you are willing to pay.
There is apparently a new kitout where you can home test from 6 weeks but I think it is expensive, look it up online.
Some hospitals will tell you at your 20 week scan, if baby is looking the right way, others wont. My hospital has a policy of not telling people.
You can also pay for a 4d scan (again do a search online) which makes it much easier to tell.
Personally I waited to meet my son and the feeling of hearing those words 'You have a little boy' just cant be beaten!
Good luck and congratulations.

You should have two scans the first at three months gone then another at twenty weeks. At twenty weeks you can find out, but why not wait and find out at the birth its part of the experience.
I did nt find out and was sure a had a boy, when they told me it was a girl I almost fell off my chair! She's perfect and such an angel. I have another on the way and that present is staying wrapped until the birth.
Good luck its amazing experience, I wish you every happiness!

I have my ultrasound to see the sex of the baby of June 28th , then I will be exactly 21 weeks pregnant.
With my older son I found out at 22 weeks...
So usually between 20-23 weeks

Generally women have one routine ultrasound (usually somewhere between 19 - 21 weeks (4.5 to 5 months). Sometimes when women have multiple ultrasounds (high risk, problems with the baby, etc.) the sex can be seen as early as 16 weeks, but it's not very common. Anything before that, the baby's bits and pieces are too small to see. :) A lot of it depends on the cooperation of the baby, too. If his/her little ankles are crossed and the tech can't get the baby to move (sometimes they'll jiggle or poke [gently, of course!] your stomach to get the baby to change positions] you may have to wait until you give birth, or at least until your next ultrasound (if you need one) to find out. Thankfully for me, during both of my pregnancies on the day of my ultrasound, my sons were spread eagle. When we found out for my second son, before the tech even said anything I asked, "Oh my God--is that a penis??" (I was sure we were having a girl, but I guess I was wrong, lol. :)

Congrats on the pregnancy, too. Here's wishing you a healthy, happy, beautiful baby!

People on here will tell you it is IMPOSSIBLE to tell before about 20 weeks...WRONG!!! I found out with 80% accuracy at my 12 week ultrasound (girl!) This is said to be quite accurate, especially with an experienced tech performing your ultrasound. My dad, who is a radiologist (MD, not a tech), confirms this. The thing is, a lot of people don't HAVE a 12 week scan (I had one for a Nuchal Tranlucency test--my hospital offers one to everybody). But it is very possible to find out the sex at about 11-12 weeks. Good luck!

You usually have a scan around 8-12 weeks then a second scan at between 18-24 weeks

CONGRATULATIONS
Its usually able to pick up bout 16wks.Though the wee one may have its legs crossed lol. Most women get a second scan at 20wks so am sure they'll be able to tell you then. Some hospitals wont tell you check out their policy on that.
Another though for you have you considered getting a 3d scan? You have to pay for them but are well worth the money the detail is amazing.Ive had one done and would recommend it to any expecting couple.
Good luck

You will be able to find out the sex at your 20 week scan - make sure you ask the sonographer when you go in.

I had my 20 weeks scan last week and was delighted to hear that i am expecting a girl.

Congrats
