Is is POSSIBLE to be 100% sure?

For instance:
I'm thinking of a # between 1 and 10.
What is the probability my # is between 1 and 10?

Did you get 100%? Are you 100% sure?

If you said yes for both, you are wrong. The first time I said between 1 and 10. The second time I said between 1 and 10. Since I was thinking of the #1, it is not true. Allow me to explain.

I NEVER specified whether or not the set of #'s included 1 and 10. The first time I meant between and including 1 and 10. The second time, I meant between, but not including, neither 1, nor 10. If you answered 100% both times, you probably ASSUMED i meant the same thing both times. Furthermore, if you were 100% sure, you did not account for the chance that you misinterpreted the question. Since you are a human (I hope), you are fallible, and always have a chance of making a mistake. Since there is always a chance a mistake in the question was made, it is NOT POSSIBLE to be 100% sure, but it is possible to be 99.9999% sure.

OK, I will go with you, but there are somethings which we are 100% sure and one of them is that all living things will eventually die. I am also 100% sure that I will not be able to survive in empty space without a space suit. I am also 100% sure that I cannot survive the depths of the ocean (say a kilometer deep) without a protective bubble (bathysphere) surrounding me.

Your grasp of semantics (and it's application to mathematics) clearly labels you as a product of our 'modern' public education system. Now trundle off and look up the meaning of the adverb 'between' and reflect on how silly you've made yourself look.

But, to answer your question, no. You can never be 100% sure except --after-- the fact.

its 100% sure.

if v explain it specificly,
since u r using d word "between" for both, n between mean more than 1 (not including 1), n less than 10(not including 10)

lets denote x=#
1

I am 100% sure that at some point in the future I will die - now that's 100% certainty for you.

tooth grinding is a component results of taking velocity, so isn't Ritalin in actuality the comparable chemical as velocity? that's what i've got been informed. perhaps his dose is basically too severe? does it help along with his behaviour?

Interesting. I guess it's always best to ask for clarification to be sure everyone involved in a situation is comprehending the situation or directions correctly, would be a good moral for this.
