It gets used 3 times a week. Should I keep it damp in a sealed container or hang it to dry each time?

If you keep very cold then you could keep it damp but it must be clean otherwise bacteria will grow and it will smell and become slimy. My advice is to let it dryout, I always do and mine last a few years before they start to deteriorate.

Let the sponge dry.. but before you do that toss it into your microwave for about 30 to 45 seconds.. I read somewhere that doing this will kill some of the bacteria.. or if you have a dishwasher toss it onto the top rack and let it go through the cycle with your dishes.. this will also help kill some of the bacteria

I use a chamois leather sometimes to clean windows and glassware and after i have finished I squeeze out the water and put it inside a polythene bag. I have found this way best for further usage. If it's left ouside to dry..the chamois will crack and fall to pieces.

"California Water Blade" then a little towel action dry your car in one third the time. " Mister Clean Car wash System" don't even touch the car and it drys it self. Twisting that chamouis skin will give you repetitive stress injury unless you use a roller ringer or an air chammy squeezer. It has been raining so much here in Texas this year I haven't been cleaning my car twice weekly like normal. You should have a extra skin top of car skin and bottom of car skin, and let them dry out after cleaning and rinse.

Let it dry out. If you keep it damp or wet all the time it will give off a nasty smell and rot even faster.

I just let mine dry out, I think if you seal it in a container while damp it might get moldy. Chow

Chuck the chamois and get a product called "The Absorber." It will set you back about $10-15 and they work just as good if not better than a chamois.
