I've never really thought about why it is called a funny bone. Or a crazy bone as some people call it. I know it tingles and hurts for a few minutes after you bump it, so it's not funny at all. Tyler's answer is probably the best explanation for your question.

No it's not funny when you bump it, but it does give you a funny sorta painful sensation. I don't laugh, and I don't like the feeling personally.
