It took too long to reach this point. If I am invisible and not noticed I find the silence great so I keep my mouth shut but every once in a while I put my foot out and trip someone (that will get you noticed real quick). Life is a hoot enjoy it no matter what you can always turn a negative into a positive if you want to.

It's around 50 for women. We become invisible. That's why they started the Red Hat Society.

I've read that women in their "50's become invisible." I put this theory to the test one afternoon. I didn't find this to be the truth at all.
Anyone at any age could blend in to their immediate surroundings if they wanted to. I refuse to believe it's an age thing.
At times ,like a bad hair day, I prefer to be invisible. That was tough to do in my 20's. middle aged women have more freedom to choose if they want to be invisible or not.

That may have been the case a few years ago but the times they are a'changin' Today's pensioners were the "children of the 60's" and have a proud history of protest and making themselves heard. As a consequence the elderly are becoming much more visible. Take a look at this link: http://www.bbc.co.uk/bbctwo/noise/?id=power about a UK group of pensioners, appropriately called "The Zimmers." the group - 40 strong - has a combined age of over 3,000 years! Rock on Grannie..........

Just enjoy being invisible untill the younger ones suddenly see you and want a favor of some kind then play the decrepit senile card.
Keep in mind that; Youth and vitality is no match for old age and cunning.

I think I've always been invisible, which on the whole I've never minded as I'm not keen on being in the limelight. If I did want to be noticed I think I would just wear something extra bright.

I've actually become more visible since I've aged. I have a lot more confidence to speak my mind. I've got a lot of life experience that I'm happy to share with whoever asks for it. I'll put it out there and if people want to use it, fine. If not, that's ok too. I didn't always listen to my elders when I was younger.

I sadly do think that happens. I suggest you find groops of your age to participate in. I also think the invisibility comes from us getting into a comfort range where we don't do anything any more. It could be as simple as joining a gardening club, or going to Church.

In America when you get the gray wig you become invisible
So I moved to Vietnam and they have much respect for their elders. They also know all Americans are rich that helps, but really you get nice smiles from everyone they are lovely people and the country is great.

I don't know I have been going invisible in shops etc for many years. I think it is more to do with the way you behave. If you are relaxed and don't bother to push yourself forward you tend to get ignored
