i got my ears pierced saturday, and that night i swaped out the stud from the gun with a ring i had at home. it bled a little. i cleaned everything with that spray stuff. have i just extended the healing time of my ear?

Yes, everytime you change the jewelry you damage the healing tissues, which means they take longer to heal. You also increase the chances of scar tissue and infection. You put non-sterile jewlery in to a fresh piercing, it could introduce bacteria to the wound.

yes it'll take slightly longer - you've irritated your ears by forcing different jewellery after a very short time, which will also increase the chances of them getting red or infected, and thus basically cancel out any healing they've done so far

also, swapping hoops so soon may affect your ability to wear post earrings easily when they heal - they were pierced with straight earrings, and changing them for curved earrings before they've healed could affect the way they heal.

I don't know if swapping the earrings would necessarily extend the healing time, but I think it might up your chances for getting an infection. You're not supposed to take out the studs you got them pierced with for 6 weeks.
