Throw in fast food and you have it pegged. I'm glad I grew up in a time of playing outdoors, not wearing helmets or knee-pads, good music and no reality TV shows. What we think is good now will only be detrimental in the very near future.

Mankind has always-ALWAYS had to take the good with the bad. Actually its better than the days of pony express right? Look how limited growth was when we had to wait three weeks for a letter?
Look at the knowledge we've acquired since being able to speak with others from all over the world. A thought that no one had fifty years ago. We can now debate many issues that we never could have before, our awareness of life has grown considerably.
The flip side is the lack of exersize. There are several youth who don't leave the home, to an extent that they are unaware of how to read a telephone book any longer, or know what a deck of cards looks like without it being one on an electronic device. If they ever get lost while driving a car in the future, they'll be good and lost.

I would say yes, but there is a good and a bad. There is so much wonderful info on TV but you have to be careful, choosing only programs that enhance your lifestyle, as there is in the internet, but again you have to be careful. Its dangerous ground,
Try to live just one week without TV, or getting on the computer, and see what kind of mental and emotional withdrawl you have.

True. And the result is that this generation is becoming mechanical because of lack of parental love and care. There is hardly any emotional attachment for anyone but the gadgets. Not a good scene......

Yes, it looks like it. It can be good if people put them to good use. Information should be helpful and useful. Its purposes should be to help us. The thing is, I don't think we should be very dependent on such media because they don't always give correct information. The endless list of problems is mostly caused by us...humans!

There's good & bad. Firstly you cant fight it as its here to stay. But if you think it harms personally , then you can take appropriate steps for yourself....limiting the exposure etc. I dont know if we tend to romanticize the past. But I think of my childhood as fun, playing outdoors & being with ppl.

Your just now noticing that? Not only is it destructive to their little minds but look how overweight they are,due to lack of exercise!
Now don't get me wrong, some educational shows are fine and stimulate their minds, but in general they are way too idle compared to past generations..but hey thats just my opinion..=)
