Ha! The U.S. is running out of workers because the average citizen is too overqualified for a lot of the crap jobs out there -- or they'd rather be unemployed than do them.
Maybe the U.S. businesses should start paying more money on wages -- I'm sure they'd find lots of workers coming out of the woodwork. Of course, then we'd all have to pay more money for goods and services.
Maybe the best bet would be to relax immigration laws.

With the amount of work that is being "offshored" and the number of workers who are being let go, for various reasons, the claim that the worker supply is nearing exhaustion may be a bit broad. Add the amount of illegal immigration from all sources, that is hardly being stemmed by the feds, and the case for relaxing child labor laws is fairly weak.

No. No one has the right to snatch the future of a child.Depriving a child of minimum education is depriving the nation its future. If one wants to cut short a child's education on one hand and expose them to work hazards on the other its a double cruelty.
If there is shortage of workers relax the H1 rules.

And yet there are still people who are unemployed? Why not hire them.
I'm laughing a little about this comment. I can't find a 16 year old who wants to work, much less a 13 year old...lol.

If we are running out of workers then why is the unemployment so high?
and since there is a lot of outsourcing and factories closing there are plenty of people who would want jobs.
We are kids for only a short time and then we are adults forever...Kids should be kids and shouldn't have to work.
They should be focusing on their education anyways.

No, make the lazy people on welfare (not the disabled or physically unable ones, just the lazy ones) get off their butts!
