The real proof of life... the gist of life exists within our heart! Our soul atman within that lives in our heart is the real essence of life! It is our soul atman that has manifested the body and not vice versa. At any given moment of time every human being is guided by intellect and also the dictates of our soul atman within.
Those who travel the path of absolute truthfulness hear the sweet small inner voice of our soul atman within. This voice of our soul atman always guides us on the right path. All logistical conclusions that seem to stem from our intellect are more guided by our soul atman within. Our intellect contains knowledge we gained in the journey of life.
The source of all Wisdom on Mother Earth is our soul atman. As a human being we have both the choices available... to distinguish and choose right from wrong is our prerogative! At times guided by prejudices... the intellect might give wrong signals which we assume as correct. If we desire perfect decisions every time... we need dwell more on dictates of our soul atman within. More on inner self - http://www.godrealized.com/inner_self.html

Star question.... great!!
You have really hit the nail on the head. Indeed all we know is merely a belief that we know, until such belief is replaced by another belief of something else to be true.
We have ample evidence of our sensory perceptions being often not totally true... in any case our cognizance is only relative and not absolute. Similarly, we apply logic on these perceptions obtained from sensory inputs... and strangely, our logic is entirely formed on the cause and effect syndrome we experience.. that is a certain cause always resulting in the same effect every time... it is repetition that makes us believe as though what we know is the truth... we are so sold into such beliefs through repetition of experience that even when there is any deviation, we assume there ought to have been other causes to bring about a deviation. Once in a while through lateral (lopsided) thinking, we do imagine unorthodox truths and it is often on such occasions that widely believed truths turn out to be myths rather than truths. What is lateral thinking... it is applying logic in an unorthodox way which means in an illogical manner.
The greatest philosophers have mostly concluded therefore that life or time is a mere illusion and no reality.

I think that our senses cannot show us the right direction because they are related to the physical body which itself cannot reach out to the truth since it is perishable and always changing in nature. The mind is always changing . Why? Because it is guided by the senses which may lead the mind to all sorts of illusions and misguide it. Correct knowledge can be got only from that instrument within us which is not affected by the changin g scenario of the external world. If we have found out that instrument only then we can look at things as they really are.

There are no simple ways to decipher cause and effect. they are different for different people and vary largely even between communities.
Explains why a criminal feels justified about commiting a crime, while the world sulks over it.
We thus have regulations, laws, legal policies and code of conduct coming in between to drive everyone to a common hassle free life style. Food for thought !!

Friend,
For all humans , the entry and exit of knowledge is through five sensory organs only ( Eyes,Ears.nose, tongue and skin)
We know any thing either one of these organs and mind registers it .
Suppose you are shown something that you have never seen, touched ,heard about, smelt and tasted, then there is no way you can say what that is.so in order to know some thing , it must be already in your mind through one of the sense organs. The accumulation of such information about various things, persons books etc etc all may be called knowledge you have.
Again you give this knowledge to others through speech,or in writing using hands.(hands are a component of motor organs).
You know what you know, by the mind only. The organs carry the knowledge and is stored in mind and ,your mind alone knows what you know.
If there is a genius with tremendous knowledge, and suppose unfortunately he became mentally retarded, in spite of all his organs being OK . he knows nothing of what he knows.

As long as we use five senses we cannot think beyond them. Some animals have some senses sharper than us, fishes can breathe in oxygen through water, plants can eat through air, sunlight and soil, bats can prey at night hence our five senses are inadequate there is much more beyond these five senses.

When u go thur the things u know the real cause and the effect so experience and time are the ones to teach us wat we really know. Education just makes us a bit alert and sane but the fact remains that when u go practically thru real life events affecting u, u truly learn and know.

so that we know... we are gifted with our senses and if it comes to challenging our senses for what all we know and finding another way out to prove whats real.... it just assures you of one thing.. you perhaps dont know anything and its all an illusion !!!
hey, its an amazing question because i never saw myself so much in a dilemma !!
