its English not englisch.

English people drive on the left side of the road. This is because Napoleon conquered large parts of Europe but not England. As the French drive on the right the Engish people chose to drive on the left.

Hope this helps.

The English people drive on the left side of the road, this is because, although Napoleon conquered large parts of Europe(in France the people drove on the right side of the road) Napoleon failed to conquer England. Therefore English people still drive on the left side of the roads.

There use that

It is spelled "English", not "Englisch". Also, you misspelled "sentences".

The English people drive on the left side of the road, because Napoleon conquered wide parts of Europe, but not England. The French drive on the right side of the road.

The English people drive on the left side of the road because Napoleon never conquered England. Napoleon was left handed and he held his sword in his left hand. In order to fight on horseback, he had to be on his right side of his opponent. This evolved into people passing on the right side of roadways. Since Napoleon never conquered England, the English still pass on the left.

About a quarter of the world drives on the left, and the countries that do are mostly old British colonies. This strange quirk perplexes the rest of the world; but there is a perfectly good reason.

In the past, almost everybody travelled on the left side of the road because that was the most sensible option for feudal, violent societies. Since most people are right-handed, swordsmen preferred to keep to the left in order to have their right arm nearer to an opponent and their scabbard further from him. Moreover, it reduced the chance of the scabbard (worn on the left) hitting other people.

Furthermore, a right-handed person finds it easier to mount a horse from the left side of the horse, and it would be very difficult to do otherwise if wearing a sword (which would be worn on the left). It is safer to mount and dismount towards the side of the road, rather than in the middle of traffic, so if one mounts on the left, then the horse should be ridden on the left side of the road.

The people above gave good suggestions, but it still doesn't really explain why people drive on the left in England and the right everywhere else! What does Napoleon have to do with it? Did he have some law about which side people were supposed to drive on? You might want to elaborate a little bit.

Don't use deustch (Englisch) for "English people" you should have just written, "English"...

Napoleon had conquered a lot of regions of Europe, but failed to conquer England. That's why English people drive on the left side of the street; while for example, the french drive on the right side.

I think that's correct...

Viel Gluck...

You might turn your statement around to make it more understandable and less awkward.
The people of Europe were conquered by Napoleon of France. Therefore Europe drives on the right hand side as they do in France however he failed to conquer the English and they continued to use the left side.
How does that sound?

No offense but first get a Webster Dictionary. After the use of a comma ...the word because is not necessary , nor correct. As for your reasoning about why people drive on left or right side of road.......... I would bet tons of money not one history book in existence would back up your theory...Keep working at it....good luck....
