Its being beaten in the sales by its main competitor the 360 by 2 to 1, its also losing its exclusives left right and center, its over priced not may people are interested in blu-ray right now, it also state it will lat 10 years when in this time both Microsoft and Nintendo will have released a successor to their current system, and if the PS3 can't compete with their current consoles how can it have a hope against any new consoles, the wii is outselling the PS3 by 4 to 1 by the way.

Isn't the truth that those that say the 360 and wii suck are only saying out of frustration after wasting a huge amount of money only to find themselves owning a failing console.

The PS3 is a sleeping beast, and it will soon wake up. Even if the 360 is beating the PS3 by a 2:1 margin, that's still very good news for the PS3 because 1. it's more expensive, and it's selling well. 2. The 360 came out a year before the PS3, so even at 600 bucks, the PS3 is matching the 360's sales.

The PS3 may be losing exclusives left and right, but then again, didn't Nintendo lose the rights (not the exclusive rights) to Final Fantasy, the worst franchise to lose in the US, and the second worst franchise to lose in Japan, after Dragon Quest? Oh wait, Nintendo did lose the Dragon Quest to Sony. It's better to lose exclusive rights to a franchise than to lose the rights to the franchise. That's what doomed the N64 and GC.

MS and Nintendo have yet to steal a franchise from Sony. Losing exclusive rights to franchises isn't a big deal anymore.

And if you think Blu-ray isn't going to matter, think again. Sony may lose exclusive rights to games, but Sony games could end up being better than the 360's version because of Blu-ray. The 360 uses DVD-9, which holds about 9 gb, while Blu-ray holds 25 gb. That means developers can put more things on the PS3's version of the game. If they want to do that for the 360, they'll either have to use multiple disks, which isnt' popular, or they'll have to make it available on XBL, and MS said that there will be no free contents, so gamers will have to pay for it. Does that sound fair to you if you're a 360 owner, and you have to pay for things that PS3 owners can get for free?

The Wii may start out strong, but can it finish strong? Don't you find it suspicious that Nintendo isn't releasing as much Wii as the consumer demands? Could it be that Nintendo is deliberately releasing the Wii in very limited amounts in order to make it seem that the Wii sales are going strong?

Sony may start out slow, but it's going to finish strong. It may not sell the most consoles this year or next year, but by the time the console is over, it will sell the most.

I think you're exaggerating the sales number. The 360 is outselling the Wii, and if the 360 has a 2:1 ratio over the PS3, how can the Wii have a 4:1 ratio over the PS3?

PS3 aint dead, people just dont understand all the specs in the new systems and are just going with what they can afford...If I had the money I would get a PS3 and if I had the money when the time comes I would get the next Playstation and the one after that, partly because of loyalty to a brand that has supplied me with many of my favourite games over the years and partly because I understand the system and know that they will always have games on it that I want to play...Sony probably wont stop producing consoles as they also do TVs, Laptops and other stuff so they have money to fall back on...so does Microsoft but its Nintendo that I fear for as Nintendo is pretty much consoles only...if they release a bad console and no-one buys it theyre kinda screwed.

but how do you know this? come on, it's only mean out about half a year, give the ps3 a chance. go on "tothegame.com" and look at all the upcoming games on the PS3. people will understand blu ray more in a few more years and people will move of DVD format. like what the wii and 360 uses

You sound like a salesman pushing your product. Truth is there are far more games available for the PS3 than the other two (reverse compatability). The price will soon drop as it is a little high but SONY is traditionally stubborn about lowering price. It will drop soon. Finally, the new game push for the PS3 will blow the others out of the water in months and years to come. Remember, it is still in the early stages of production of a unit that is far ahead of its time. Programmers will have to play catch up.

The PS3 is certainly dead in my book. Not because I have a Wii, but the PS3 is a massive DRM enforcer. If Sony dumped HDCP and offered high quality connections over unsecured component, then I would buy it. You may think this is piracy prevention, but it's actually a way to harass consumers into buying HDMI TV's, but even those have glitches causing the screen to go blank in the middle of a game (Looks like you just lost that fight while you couldn't see anything). If I were FORCED to buy it, I wouldn't use it until it was modded.

wii ended up being aimed at girls after a while, urging them that this was a great keep-fit method.

As for PS3---it is completely disgusting the amount you have to pay for the dman console, and then the games on top of that.

This therfore, made me and my man create a retro games room...

We just bought a slimline PS2 for £40, a PSP for £89, we have an Xbox, PS1,N64,Gameboy,gamboy advanced and a atari(!) and all under the telly....heh heh heh....Stuff the PS3

So I think we're more than amused for the next ten years.

Besides, I;d choose a sega master system than a PS3 ANY day!

Yes because they were stupid only to release 1,000,000 units in the US around Christmas and did not release any more until around April. Nintendo was the smarter company by releasing three times as many during Christmas and releasing more a couple of weeks after.

Sony will attempt to improve their sales by announcing that they will discontinue making games for PS2 effective end of summer or sometime but it wont work this time.

Yes. The PS3 was overhyped and Sony couldn't wait to launch it before Wii launched there's. 1 year later, they still having hard time making games because they're too busy trying to compette with X360 and Wii games. Plus, buying a PS3 is like buying a new sony computer. Too expensive and not enough games.

I didn't see that coming, I thought PS3 had the upper edge, but oh well. People just don't want to pay that much. My PS2 cost me $149 years ago, and I'd rather play it all day than spend $600+ on a system and then $60 for every game. Screw that. I have to eat. I have to pay rent. I have to put gas in my truck.
