I'm a singer/songwriter, my advice is for you to believe in yourself, work hard to improve your music and be determined to raise the bar for yourself always...be the best that you can be. People will praise you, people will mock you, but you alone have to believe in what you're doing whole heartedly. Your confidence will shine through... trust me.

Visualize yourself approaching a girl, and visualize the conversation. Each time you do the visualizing, change the conversation. Remember, that a conversation involves two or more people. The hardest part is breaking the ice, once that is done, then the conversation usually comes naturally. Ask questions, and really listen to the answers they give. You don't have to make a big dramatic approach...just saying "Hi, how's it going?" can break the ice. Prior to approaching the girl you are interested , look at her, and once she catches your eye, hold your look for a bit longer than a glance, and give a slight smile. If she gives a smile back...then wait a few minutes and just say "Hi, how's it going?" The conversation has started. The more you do it the more self confidence you will have. Body language speaks many different languages and says a lot. I read a old book called.."Body Language" many years ago, and I still remember what an impact it had on me. Good luck...

There are books on self esteem and self confidence that can be found in the library. One is "How to win friends and Influence People"

Best of luck.

Great way to motivate yourself - realize musicians make no money & that it's a useless career. Or maybe you think you'll be a successful "American Idol" type of person? Ha, in your dreams.

Here's what you do - starve yourself, look good for the guys. That should be your career. Now get to work.

Try reading anything you can. A broad range of knowledge makes you more confident. Also try martial arts. Travel a lot and talk to as many people as you can. Improve yor appearance. Don't be shy, it is not a crime to ask questions.

there's no simple way...you have to accomplish things (improving your music, etc.) so YOU feel good about yourself

Self esteem does not come from someone else saying "your great," it comes from you being able to say "look what I accomplished, I'm proud of myself. I'm capable of becoming a really good musician"
