Take martial arts lessons. Not only will they give you opportunities to face your fears and strike an opponent. But if will teach you self discipline, how to understand your fear, and overcome it.

This is going to sound gay but words are more effective than fists. If you get good with talking someone down, if you win the verbal confrontation, there's no need for a physical one.
I myself have had the luxury of an older brother. Older brothers are excellent at verbal and physical harassment. Not only do you build up a tolerance, you build up your own resources.
All I can say is get better at being a quick thinker when it comes to words. Never attack, only defend. 99% of the time people are all talk, they won't fight.

I used to be like you. Then I had a car accident and almost died. But now I am ok. From then on I realised that I have to live life to the fullest. Life is very short. You can die any moment. Then what? Stop worrying and start martial arts.

Understand that you are the only person who can truly respect yourself. Once you finally have respect for yourself you'll start to feel enough conscern when someone hits you oranythong like that, that you will just hit them back, because you don't want anyone disrespecting you in that way.
Hope it helped.

read alot.....educate yourself to expect nothing from anything..you need mental strength and mental strength comes with a certain amount of exposure.nowadays everything is seen as the opposite, if you are intelligent you are dumb, society allows you to feel inherent or inclined to under-develop yourself.dedicate yourself to learning not only what your taught (which you don't choose for yourself) anyway

Never resort to violence, there is always someone who will take it further then you want to go and then you have really tough decisions.
