Internal Piano Structure: Which strings does the piano hammar hits? Is it the middle one or all the 3 strings?

You can tell its all 3 just be listening. Have you ever heard an out of tune piano? Even if you cant tell that the interval between a note is out of tune, you still just know what an out of tune piano sounds like. That is because the three strings will get out of tune with each other, so that when they are all hit, there is a large amount of dissonance.
