Once you get married, you get used to more than just going to the bathroom while they're around. You get used to not shaving for a while and letting him see your hairy armpits and hairy legs. He gets used to it as well. Actually it may be the guy that does the pooping, and farting in front of you that breaks the ice.
Once you sleep together and do things "a la nude" you get to know each other's bodies pretty well. The natural works of your body are normal.
Usually by the time people decide to get married, they're pretty mature about understanding that everybody poops, farts, belches and barfs.

Since when are physiological needs embarrassments? You can talk about basic manners.
Don't tell me you still perpetuate the facade that your (the lady's) poop don't stink? Wait till you have kids and the mess they make on you.
Married people let their guards down somewhat. So bad breath, burping, farting, funny noises sitting on the toilet, all come out.

This is why it's best to live with someone to "feel them out in vice versa" before the marriage. You'll just have to do it or end up with bowel problems. He wont mind doing it around you. Just keep a can of spray or scented candles near. C'mon everyone goes to the bathroom. How comfy are you two? Are you sure the marriage isn't too soon?? hmmmmmm

You shut the bathroom door and if you need to, run the water as camoflage. It's okay to be shy. Not everyone needs to share in every body function.

my husband is really funny. he will NOT go to the bathroom (pee or poo) if i am in there and he won't let me do it if he is in there. he won't even talk to me through the door if he is going. he is a weirdo. :) it takes time. and a couple of embarrassing moments and then it gets easier.

i've been with my wife 8 years now and i still don't fart in front of her! we've just got into the routine where we call it private time!! plus we are fortunate to have two toilets! don't worry about it to much. another good trick if you've done a smelly one is blame it on the kids!

Understand that this is a natural, physical, event that you have to complete, otherwise it would get uncomfortable. So don't worry weather there listening. Just take care of bussiness.

I think there are some things in marriage that shouldn't be shared. Like the vision of the one you love taking a crap right in front of you.

One day you realize that these things are natural. No you do not have to have nor need an open door policy.
