How does being posted by a celeb make you more or less likely to star the question? If the question is offensive to you will you still star it if it makes you really really think? If the question is simple to understand yet interesting does that get your star? I would like to know because I want a 1000 stared question some day :)

In my experience, Best answer and Star question come our way mostly unexpected and unannounced... the equation or formula that makes these happen seems to be much too complicated to be solved and understood reasonably accurately by anyone.

So far as I am concerned, my own standards and preferences seem to vary rather inconsistently from case to case.... sometimes I choose a Best answer or Star a question and then start thinking why I did so.

Best of luck to you for 1000 Stars... here is one from me.

Sometimes if a question is offensive, but not really bad, yet intriguing, yeah i star it. But if it is something with feeling, problems, and heart, it will get starred. A lot of the times it because it was something i agree with.

I pretty much only star questions that I believe should be viewed by everyone in order to learn something important. Whether the question is needlessly complex or restrictively simple, if it can accomplish something I feel is important, then I star it.
