Australian people, especially youngsters, listen to anything that is trendy.. such as artists like Wolfmother, Eskimo Joe, Little Birdy, Pink, Avril Lavigne, Beyonce, Akon, Relient K and all of them.
Look, since you are from another country to Australia, all of these bands and artists may sound unfamiliar, because they sounded extremely weird to me. But i guess if you try a bit of everything, you develop a certain style of music, and you begin to like a certain variety of things. People are into one band one day, and they're not into one band the next. I guess you just have to live and breathe Australian music to really get into it.
I guess in India or wherever you are, you have different sorts of music, nothing English, probably things in your own language. You see, we have our music and you have yours and that's life I guess!

My Aussie friend listen to classical music (ie Mozart, Bach, Beethoven, Chopin, etc).

I listen to Hip-Hop, Rap, RnB...which is what most of the youth down here are into.... same sorta stuff as the U.S.
