I am a California resident as well as a transfer student. Is UC Santa Cruz still accepting application for fall 2007? If so, what are my chances of getting in with let's say a 2.6 gpa as a transfer student? Also, i have been accepted to many CSU schools - do they have the same requirements as the UC - as in general education needed to apply.
Housing - does Santa Cruz have many dorms available?

you are out of luck for fall quarter 2007. You needed to apply last November 1 - 30. You can apply for next winter from July 16 - August 17. Though you will need to check with the school for winter applications. Some schools do not chose to take winter transfers.

Generally UC and CSU schools have slightly different requirements. and generally I think UC are harder than CSU. but then that was like 13 years ago when I was applying. And not all CSU schools are created equal. I went to Cal POly and barely got in with a 3.7 out of high school. It largely depens on the school. what major you are applying for, what time of year, etc. And according to the link attached, the 2.6 gpa for a california community college transfer, is not high enough. They require 3.0 gpa. And I have no idea about your housing question. Call the college.
