Your employer...even if it is a doctor...has NO reason to see your medical files!!! There is NO legal reason for her to see them and I'm pretty sure that it's UNETHICAL for her to ask to see them! Also...I'm not sure what state you are in but I'm not sure they can cut your pay when you switch positions for a medical reason...you might want to call your local unemployment office and ask if that's legal.

Tell your boss that your doctor has advised you not to give your medical information to your employer and that you will keep her informed if any medical complication arises.

You do not have to and should not sign to have your medical records released to your employer. It is illegal for her to ask for them. You have a doctor's order to be on light duty or whatever and that's that. I'm not exactly sure that she can cut your wage, if she can, you can get unemployment because of it. You do not have to sign and she can't make you. If she insists, get it in writing. Have her give you a written request and the reasoning for it. I wouldn't let her have the records though. Best wishes.

I wound not sign. Just tell them that you appreciate their concern for you but you really feel that it would be a conflict of interests, since he is your boss not your doctor.

Also, I would talk to him about your pay cut. I do not think that was a legal pay cut.

Your doctor's note should be highly suffiecient. If your boss is also your ob, then yes, she'll need the records, otherwise no.
