I have been having a regular period for the past 2 years on the 28th of each month. Last month thought was really strange. On the 25th and 26th i had light spotting which stopped. Then on the 29 i bled like a regular period until the 31st. I'm nauseated all the time. Have back pains and the smell of some foods even the ones I love make me sick. Can I possibly be pregnant even with a period???

Pregnancy is a very slight possibility, but it might be something else like kidney infection, gall bladder attack, appendix inflammation or even pancreatitis... any of these plus many others can affect your period...

Call the triage nurse at your clinic (or the local ER if you don't have a clinic). They will help you pin down the type and location of the pain and that will help identify the problem. They will almost certainly want to come in.

You are probably getting dehydrated by now, and that can cause it's own similar symptoms and lead to severe issues as well as masking the original problem.

Make the call right now, do NOT wait until morning.

Some people, though its not many, still get their periods during pregnancy.

Its in your best interest to see your doctor and have a blood test, rather that a store bought kit that likely wont give you a definate answer.

If the blood test comes out negative and you still feel these symptoms, your doc will likely have you get an ultrasound. Sometimes the pregnancy hormone isnt strong enough to show in the blood right away. The echo from the ultrasound will determine if you are pregnant or not.

I'm not sure how there can be so MANY people that answered that question that has no idea how pregnancy and menstruation works.

No, you cannot have a menstrual period and still be pregnant. You can experience bleeding, but if it is an actual menstrual period there is absolutely no chance of you being pregnant, as a period would terminate a pregnancy. Some women experience some vaginal bleeding during pregnancy and mistake it for their period, as they absolutely could not be having a period and still carry their pregnancy to term. Period=not pregnant. It's that simple.

Absolutely- if you have had unprotected sex it is a posibilty. Take a pregnancy test. If it is not positive you may have had some kind of hormone changes that screwed everything up.

Yes it could be possible. Take a pregnancy test to find out. If it is negative then see your doc to find out what is going on.
