EXTREMELY overrated? How is a QB who won three Super Bowls even SLIGHTLY overrated? Joe Montana won his three rings in eight years with a Hall of Fame "genius" coach and a cast of stars who, if they aren't in the hall already, soon will be. Brady won his in four years, and while Bill Belichick's every bit Bill Walsh's equal (or better) as a future Hall of Fame coach, the only other player from those teams besides Brady who might have a shot at the hall is the kicker -- Adam Vinatieri, who, of course, got his fourth ring with the Colts in February.
The QB is always the coach's extension on the field, and Belichick/Brady is just part of a long tradition of great coach/QB tandems: George Halas/Sid Luckman, Paul Brown/Otto Graham, Weeb Ewbank/John Unitas, Vince Lombardi/Bart Starr, Hank Stram/Len Dawson, Tom Landry/Roger Staubach, Chuck Noll/Terry Bradshaw, Walsh/Montana, Jimmy Johnson/Troy Aikman, Mike Shanahan/John Elway, and, of course, Tony Dungy/Peyton Manning (and, hopefully soon, Sean Payton/Drew Brees) ...

First off,Epic fail.Tom Brady isn't overrated but of course since your a 'Peyton Manning' fan you'll say that. If you ask a question like this have evidence to back you up:) the three Patriots Super Bowl victories we didn't have a great defense so what are you talking about?Loki explained the whole thing. The Patriots have a very average receiving corp.(we always have at least since the Brady era) so the O-line wasn't the reason we won Super Bowls it's because of Tom's excellent skills, the Patriots weren't even a winning team really until Tom Brady came so he changed the team that doesn't sound overrated at all to me.FYI Peyton Manning actually has always had more talent around him than Brady. So you have no evidence he is overrated cos he isn't.Go Pats let's get #4! aww you gave me a thumbs down:( I don't care what experts say and that top 100 players list is a complete joke.Tom Brady is better than Peyton Manning. At least Tom Brady wins win it matters most the post season(14-4) vs.Manning(9-9) lol not to mention Manning has been in the NFL longer. One more thing,Tom Brady 3 Super Bowl rings are better than Manning's stats and MVPS,Super Bowl rings are the highest honor in football. Why isn't Manning doing so well now since is receiving core is banged up?I guess Peyton relies on receivers.

YEa he's extremely overrated. He won 3 spbwl rings with the biggest crap on wideouts, while players like Manning(who has the best wideouts) only won 1 and that was a gift from Brady. Brady let him win it. He has 3 rings what else can you expect for a qb that has crap in his backfield. How is he overrated?

Whether he's worthy of being in the Greatest of All Time conversation or not is still is still up to debate ... but I think it's hard to argue against him being one of the best quarterbacks of his time. While there are several current and former NFL quarterbacks who are physically more gifted, there are very few who have been able to perform as consistently as Brady ... especially in big game situations. Just look up the quarterback rating stats for the last four years on NFL.com and you'll find that Brady is one of the few who have managed to crack the top ten each of the last four seasons ... add to that the Super Bowl rings, and I think it's kind of hard to argue against the kid.

Usually people making that claim point to the defense and Vinatieri.
In 2000 with Belichick, automatic Adam, and 90% of the same team in 2001 the Patriots went 5-11. Brady was there but he was the 4th string QB. (Yes, you read that right, 4th string.)
In the off-season there were some changes. (Every team has some changes during the off-season.) With Bledsoe at QB they went 0-2. One loss was to the Bengals before they were good. (Bungals they were called.)
Then Brady came in. They went 14-3 (Including play-offs) with the only change being Brady was the QB. (Oh and later in the year they got rid of Terry Glenn.)
Oh, that vaunted defense? 24th overall 6th in scoring in 2001. For comparison’s sake the Colts in 2002 were, what 7th in scoring and 12th or something overall. The 2001 Patriots had the worst ranked defense since the Colts in SB V. (I forget, how many points did that vaunted defense give up in a quarter in Super Bowl 36?)
Not to detract from Belichick or that vaunted defense, but I can either believe you or what I saw. Either I believe the reality reflected in the above or you saying Brady is pedestrian. I think my eyes and the numbers might be a tad more reliable than your bitter opinion, but thanks for playing. :D
Yup, Brady came to a real defensive powerhouse. :D
Oh in Super Bowl XXXVIII that vaunted defense gave up 29 points, and Adam Vinatieri was 1 for 3

no, tom brady is not overrated. it's true that in his three superbowl wins, he had great talent around him and his head coach is a future hall of famer, but in the last two years his team, overall, had been mediocre at best. yet they made the playoffs in both of those years, including reaching the afc championship game last year. many people give a lot of credit to his head coach, but remember it's the players on the field that executes the plays and the most important player on that field is the quarterback, which is what tom brady is. a great quarterback.

He's only won 3 Super Bowls and came real close to getting the Pats into the Super Bowl this past year. Just ask the Colts how overrated he is.

I was never a fan of the Pats or their antics. If it wasn't for the tuck rule/snow game/Oakland Raiders/Drew Bledsoe getting hurt game, none of that "TB" crap would have happened. I guess hes pretty good and the pats do have a good "D." Is he overrated? In my opinion, yes. Extremely? No. He's a good player but, despite not being a pats fan, I don't like him. Those Bostonians are smart people though; hard to argue with. Very hard to mess with them and their sport teams. To be honest, the Red Sox are getting on my nerves too.
There was a thing I found on the web a few months ago. It was this guy who went on a rant and just ripped Brady to sheads. His case was very well presented and his points were very well argued. The cool thing was, HE WAS RIGHT! I lost track of it, but it's out there if you want to look.
Just remember, most of TB's "HOF DRIVES" consisted of passes to the flat in a prevent defense and a real HOF kicker winning the game.
TB is just whatever to me.
Yeah he's overrated.
For what it's worth...

no. peyton manning is. tom brady is no longer underrated, but now he has higher expectations. the pats will win the super bowl this year because of him, but i don't think he will be the mvp. probably someone like lawrence maroney.
now he has a better supporting cast, so he will have a great year.
